See when, where there are Tropical Storm Francine curfews

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Parishes across Louisiana have implemented curfews as Hurricane Francine brings heavy rain and strong winds Wednesday.

The hurricane made landfall in Louisiana as a Category 2 storm on Wednesday evening. As Francine begins to pull away overnight, rain coverage and the winds will likely decrease.

Tornado warnings have been issued for Ascension, Assumption, Iberville and Livingston parishes until 11 p.m.

Flash flood warnings have been in effect for all of south Louisiana and southwest Mississippi counties until 7 a.m. Thursday.

Here are the locations in and around the Baton Rouge area that have a curfew in place.

Ascension Parish

The City of Gonzales has lifted their curfew as of 7 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12.

East Baton Rouge Parish

The Zachary Police Department said the curfew has expired in a social media post made a little after 7 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Iberville Parish

The Iberville Parish Government announced a curfew has been set starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 until 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12. They ask that only essential traffic, including emergency responders and personnel, be on the roads.

Anyone traveling from work or other important reasons are exempt, officials said.

Livingston Parish

Livingston Parish Government posted to social media a curfew that has been set in place from dusk to dawn, effective immediately. They ask that only essential traffic, including emergency responders and personnel, be on the roads.

The City of Denham Springs has ordered a curfew for residents from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., effective immediately.

Louisiana leaders want people to stay home as Hurricane Francine nears landfall

St. Helena Parish

The St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Department said a mandatory curfew for residents is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday until further notice.
