Tuesday is Election Day, the final chance for voters to cast their ballot in a toss-up presidential race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

It's the last big day on the political calendar this year, a year that has been jam-packed with news.

The new year will bring the day to certify the electoral votes to finalize the winner and a ceremony to swear in the new president.

When is Inauguration Day?

The next inauguration ceremony will be held on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025.

It takes place at the U.S. Capitol building in Washington D.C.

What events take place on Inauguration Day?

Planned by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, events include the swearing-in, the inaugural address and the pass in review.

Previous performers and speakers have included Beyoncé, Garth Brooks, Lady Gaga and Amanda Gorman.

There are other events leading up to and after the inauguration, including the Inaugural Parade and the Inaugural Balls.
