'The Inbetweeners' to reunite to celebrate tenth anniversary
The stars of The Inbetweeners are to reunite for a special show for Channel 4, to celebrate the comedy show’s tenth anniversary.
Original stars Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison will appear to reminisce about the show, airing on Channel 4 next month.
Some of the show’s co-stars, such as future I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here contestant Emily Atack, will also feature.
“The love for The Inbetweeners is huge, the kind of love that Jay would boast he’s had many times — big celebrities, millions of viewers and loving fans across the globe,” said producer Will Macdonald.
“And it’s so exciting the boys will be back together to feel that love from all those people and enjoy it first-hand. What could possibly go wrong?”
As well as classic clips from the show, there will also be unseen behind-the-scenes footage, and contributions from famous fans.
The show first aired in 2008, following the teenage tribulations of Will, Simon, Jay and Neil as they navigated adolescence at Rudge Park Comprehensive.
It ran for three series, and spawned two movies.
As for whether it would ever return to screens as a proper series, Blake Harrison told Good MOrning Britain earlier this year: “I just don’t think it would work. I think we’re too old now.
“The reason it was so funny is because you had these idiotic, ignorant lads that you let them get away with saying things that would be quite offensive. But as they get older you can’t excuse it, I think.”
