Jackie O's and Ohio University announce partnership to create an official Bobcats beer
The unofficial beer of Athens is now the official beer of Ohio University.
Jackie O's and OU have announced a partnership that will put the school's athletics logo on 12-packs of the brewery's "Ricky" golden ale. Jackie O's said the Ohio U-branded beer will be available in Athens, Columbus and around the state in mid-July.
It also will be available at Peden Stadium and the Convocation Center during OU football and basketball games, respectively.

More on the Jackie O's and Ohio University collaboration
Jackie O's is owned by OU alumnus Art Oestrike and includes a brewery, taproom, brewpub and restaurant in Athens. In 2023, Jackie O's opened a 30-tap bar and restaurant in downtown Columbus, at 171 N. Fourth St.
“I feel like I, personally, have come a really long way since my days in James Hall way back when,” Oestrike said in an announcement from Jackie O's.
“We are honored and feel very humbled by the opportunity for Jackie O’s to present this collaboration to alumni in and around the great state of Ohio with Ohio University!”
OU Athletics Director Julie Cromer was quoted in the announcement as well: “Jackie O’s is a natural fit for a branded beer collaboration. We’re excited about the partnership with a Bobcat-owned, local brand that will resonate with our fanbase."
