James Jagger Is 'Embarrassed' To Be Mick Jagger's Son
Cor, it looks like parents these days simply can not win, with Sir Mick Jagger’s son, James, admitting that he used to be seriously embarrassed of his famous father.
Well, if being the son of one of the greatest music legends in history is embarrassing what chance do other parents have, eh?
The actor, whose mum is Jerry Hall, has opened up about growing up with the attention that comes with his Rolling Stones dad and revealed that he felt incredibly uncomfortable with it.
Speaking in a new interview, James shared: “I’m incredibly proud to be a member of the family. I absolutely adore my dad and I’m incredibly proud of all his achievements, so I’m proud to be his son.
"At times, you kind of wish you had more anonymity and, when you’re a teenager, it can be embarrassing at times, but I’ve gotten over it.”
He also revealed that he struggled to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry, with his famous surname acting as a hindrance rather than a bonus.
The 30-year-old added to OK! magazine: “If you come from any family with a name, the British press prefer to shoot you down.
"They want a working class hero to be successful, a boy done good, not someone from a family of entertainers.”
Well, James hasn’t done too badly in spite of his famous surname, has he?
