Jamestown man convicted of killing 2 in separate crashes indicted on drug charges
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Jamestown man who is serving a prison sentence of at least 13 years for killing two people in separate crashes in 2021 and 2022 has been indicted on drug charges for allegedly having meth in jail, the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.
Prosecutors said that Randall Rolison, 61, was given meth by Debbie Hires, 57, during a visit on March 7 at the Chautauqua County Jail. The alleged incident occurred less than two weeks after Rolison was sentenced to 13 to 40 years in prison for the two crashes.
In the first crash, Rolison was driving a tractor trailer truck on New Year’s Eve 2021 and struck and killed 15-year-old Alexis Hughan while she was crossing West 6th Street.
In the second crash, Rolison ran a stop sign on Route 83 in Arkwright and crashed into a vehicle, killing 71-year-old Linda Kraemer. Kraemer’s husband, Gary, suffered injuries in the crash. It was later discovered Rolison was high on meth when the crash occurred. Rolison was out on bail for the first crash at the time of the second.
For the alleged incident at the jail, both Rolison and Hires are charged with fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and first-degree promoting prison contraband. Both pleaded not guilty.
Rolison, who is serving his sentence at Attica Correctional Facility, will return to court on Nov. 12. Hires will return to court on Nov. 9.
