Jamestown man convicted of killing 2 people in separate crashes accused of possessing meth in prison
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Jamestown man sentenced in February to at least 13 years in prison for killing two people in separate crashes has now been accused of possessing meth in prison, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies said 60-year-old Randall J. Rolison was allegedly passed an object, later discovered to be methamphetamine, by 56-year-old Debbie L. Hires of Jamestown during a Thursday morning visitation.
Rolison and Hires were both charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Hires was additionally charged with fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
The alleged incident comes just over two weeks after Rolison was sentenced to 13 to 40 years in prison for his involvement in two fatal crashes.
Rolison, who was driving a tractor-trailer, struck and killed 15-year-old Lexy Hughan on New Year’s Eve 2021 in Jamestown while the teenage girl was crossing West 6th Street.
The following December while out on bail for the first crash, Rolison ran a stop sign on Route 83 in Arkwright and crashed into a vehicle, killing 71-year-old Linda Kraemer. Kraemer’s husband, Gary, suffered injuries in the crash. It was later discovered Rolison was high on meth when the crash occurred.
