Jamestown man dead after motorcycle crash in Chautauqua County

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Jamestown man is dead following a motorcycle crash Friday afternoon on Route 394 in the Town of Poland, New York State Police announced.

Troopers responded around 1:11 p.m. to the scene of the crash. An investigation found that 77-year-old John W. Hodgkin was traveling westbound on Route 394 when he exited off the north shoulder, struck a ditch and was ejected from the motorcycle, police said.

EMS responded and provided lifesaving measures, but Hodgkin was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials.

An investigation into the crash remains active.
