Jennifer Garner's The Last Thing He Told Me scores surprise season 2 renewal
The Last Thing He Told Me, the thriller series starring Jennifer Garner, has received a surprise renewal for a second season.
The Apple TV+ series, which is based on Laura Dave’s 2021 novel, follows Hannah Hall (Garner) as she bonds with her stepdaughter, Bailey (Angourie Rice), following the disappearance of her husband, Owen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).
Despite receiving mixed reviews and being billed as a limited series, Variety has reported that the show has been renewed for a second season, with the plot being based on the upcoming sequel novel from Dave, which is due to be published in 2025.

Garner, Rice, Coster-Waldau and David Morse, who plays Owen’s father-in-law, will all reprise their roles for the second season, whilst Aaron Zelman will join Dave and Josh Singer as co-showrunner and executive producer.
“Like so many people, I fell for Hannah on page one of Laura’s gripping novel,” said Garner in a statement following the announcement. “The move to actor and producer from reader and super fan was delicious.
“[It was] made even sweeter by collaborating with Laura, Josh, Reese [Witherspoon] and everyone at Hello Sunshine, as well as the amazing teams at Apple and 20th. Being part of this group, not to mention part of such a stellar cast, was a career highlight for me.
