Jennifer Lopez Doubles Down on Political Statement Days Out From 2024 Election
Jennifer Lopez is really laying all her cards on the floor, doubling down on a previous political statement she made by hitting the campaign trail in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Thursday.
While many other celebrities chose to spend the Oct. 31 evening showing off their extravagant costumes online or on the carpet of Heidi Klum's annual Halloween bash, JLo was speaking from a podium to a crowd gathered at one of the key battleground states as part of the Harris-Walz campaign's "When We Vote We Win" series, which aims to mobilize young and nontraditional voters ahead of the last day of early voting in Nevada on Friday, Nov. 1, per information shared with local media.

During a portion of her speech captured and shared by CNN, the "Let's Get Loud" singer once again addressed the derogatory remarks comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made about Puerto Rico, Latinos, Black people and Jewish people while speaking at Donald Trump's Madison Square Garden campaign rally on Sunday, Oct. 27.
Explaining that she was "not here to trash anyone or bring them down," as she knows firsthand "what that can feel like and I wouldn’t do it to my worst enemy, or even when facing the biggest adversary I think America has internally ever had," the 55-year-old said: "He [Trump] reminded us who he really is and how he really feels. It wasn’t just Puerto Ricans who were offended that day. It was every Latino in this country, it was humanity and anyone of any decent character."
"But over Kamala Harris’ entire career, she has proven to us who she is. She has shown up for us every day, for the people. And it’s time for us to show up for her," she added.
"Yes, I was born here and we are Americans," she continued, noting that her parents were both born in Puerto Rico before they moved to New York City, where she grew up before rising to stardom.
"I am a mother. I am a sister. I am an actor and an entertainer and I like Hollywood endings. I like when the good guy, or in this case the good girl, wins. And with an understanding of our past and a faith in our future, I will be casting my ballot for Kamala Harris for president of the United States proudly," she declared.
In an attempt to get the final word and last laugh, she concluded: "You can’t even spell American without Rican."
Lopez's latest commentary comes just days before the Nov. 5 presidential election and days after she first publicly endorsed the Democratic nominee by reposting a video the Harris campaign shared on X (formerly Twitter) alongside a few emojis to get her point across, "???????????."
