Joe Rogan says he discussed doing interview with Kamala Harris
American mega-podcaster Joe Rogan said he had discussions with Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign for the presidential candidate to appear on his show, but he declined to travel to her for the episode.
Rogan, who hosts the popular show, “The Joe Rogan Experience", announced the Democratic presidential nominee’s team agreed to an interview with him, but in the end he was the one who said no.
The podcast host's announcement comes just one week away from the 2024 presidential election and days after Rogan released a three-hour show with former President Donald Trump.
"For the record the Harris campaign has not passed on doing the podcast," Rogan wrote in a social media post. "They offered a date for Tuesday, but I would have had to travel to her and they only wanted to do an hour. I strongly feel the best way to do it is in the studio in Austin."
However, Rogan said he hopes to speak with Harris in the future.
"My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being," Rogan wrote. "I really hope we can make it happen."
According to Spotify, Rogan's show is its top podcast with 14.5 million followers.
USA TODAY has reached out to the Harris campaign for comment.
On Tuesday, multiple outlets reported that Trump's running mate JD Vance is set to appear on Rogan's show on Wednesday.

Trump traveled to Texas for sit-down with Rogan
Last week, Trump traveled to Texas for a sit-down interview on Rogan's podcast at his studio.
The former president recorded a nearly three-hour long interview with Rogan Friday, discussing everything from extraterrestrial aliens and life on Mars to election interference and foreign policy.
Rogan, who previously signaled support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s presidential campaign when he was still running as an independent, said at one point in the podcast: “I love this idea of you teaming up with Robert Kennedy.” Kennedy dropped out and endorsed Trump earlier this year.
Also mentioned in the hourslong interview were Trump's repeated concerns that the “enemy from within” the country poses a more dangerous threat than foreign governments, as well as an exchange over the former president's debunked claims that the 2020 election was stolen.
