LAFAYETTE, LA (KLFY) — Preparations are underway for the weekend’s second amendment tax free holiday. Lafayette Shooters’s general manager Blake Boudreaux says he considers this weekend as the kickoff to hunting season.

Boudreaux said, “It’s a party. Would you say it’s just the beginning of the hunting season? We’ve got, you know, football on tv. We’ve got a cold front coming down the pipe. So what better than to pair it with savings with all the hunting gear?”

It is a statewide event exempting state and local sales taxes for all purchases of firearms, ammunition and hunting supplies. Boudreaux this is the best time to stock up and get ready for the season.

“If somebody is on the fence about wanting to buy something, now’s the time to do it. This is going to be the lowest prices of the year. Combine that with manufacturers rebates and discounts that we have with tax free. You can’t find a better time to save money,” said Boudreaux.

Comparing it to Black Friday, Boudreaux anticipates a great turnout as they have in years past.

“We anticipated a lot of business. If you come here, I have to warn you, it’s going to be very, very packed, very, very busy but worth your time.”
