Kamala Harris is in Milwaukee Wednesday. That means more traffic closures and parking restrictions
Drivers should expect delays and road closures as Vice President Kamala Harris campaigns in Wisconsin Wednesday and Thursday. Harris is set to visit Milwaukee, La Crosse and Green Bay, marking her sixth visit to the state
Harris’ last visit was earlier this month, when she held a campaign event in Ripon with former congresswoman Liz Cheney. Her last visit to Milwaukee was in August, when she made an appearance with running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz at Fiserv Forum during the Democratic National Convention.
When will Vice President Harris arrive in Milwaukee?
Harris is expected to land at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport around 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to multiple outlets.
Where will traffic be disrupted in Milwaukee?
Joe Biesk, a spokesperson for the U.S. Secret Service's Chicago Field Office, said residents “should expect intermittent road closures and parking restrictions” from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon, though he did not provide further details.
Where else in Wisconsin might there be disruptions?
On Tuesday, the Cudahy Police Department posted a traffic advisory on its Facebook. The department said East Layton Avenue will be closed between South Pennsylvania and South Howell avenues around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday and again around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The department also said it will close the northbound on-ramp to Interstate 794 and left turn lane from South Pennsylvania on to East Layton Avenue during the presidential candidate’s departure and arrival, though it did not specify the times of the closures.
A spokesperson for the La Crosse Police Department said a traffic advisory will be posted Wednesday evening on the department’s social media accounts, though no further details were provided.
