Kamala Harris Taps Eminem and Bruce Springsteen for Campaign Events as Election Day Approaches
With just two weeks left of the 2024 election cycle, Kamala Harris’ campaign is enlisting some major music artists to help draw massive crowds to her rallies, having booked both an appearance by rapper Eminem and a performance from legendary rocker Bruce Springsteen.
On Tuesday evening, multi-platinum-selling artist Eminem is scheduled to introduce former President Barack Obama at a Harris campaign event in the rapper’s hometown of Detroit, CNN reported. The rapper, whose actual name is Marshall Mathers, is no stranger to lending his celebrity to a Democrat. In 2020, the rapper granted Joe Biden permission to use his hit “Lose Yourself” in a campaign ad that was released on the eve of the 2020 election.

Then, on Oct. 24, Springsteen is set for a Thursday night performance slot at a Harris campaign event in Atlanta. The Boss will also appear onstage with Obama as he joins Harris for the first joint rally event uniting the former president and White House hopeful, as she makes her final push before voters go to the polls on Election Day.
Obama and Springsteen are also scheduled to appear together in Philadelphia for a second time on Oct. 28 at another event for Harris’ campaign. Both have been dubbed “When We Vote, We Win” events by the Harris team. Rolling Stone reported that a senior Harris campaign official said that more rallies under this name will be coming in the final two weeks of the campaign. They will likely take place in the battleground states of Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, North Carolina and Nevada, the official said.
Springsteen endorsed Harris in a video shot in a diner in his hometown of Freehold, New Jersey. In the clip, the longtime symbol of working-class Americana contemplates the massive political divide in America that’s developed over the past decade.
“It doesn’t have to be this way,” the songwriting legend said. “[Kamala Harris and Tim Walz] are committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone, regardless of class, religion, race, your political point of view or sexual identity, and they want to grow the economy in a way that benefits all, not just a few like me. On top, that’s the vision of America I’ve been consistently writing about for 55 years.”
On Saturday, Harris was joined by pop stars Usher and Lizzo at separate rallies in Georgia and Michigan.
