Kamala Harris Tells Oprah Winfrey Anyone Breaking Into Her Home Is “Getting Shot”
Vice President Kamala Harris shared her plans to preserve 2nd Amendment rights. Speaking with Oprah Winfrey in a live-streamed conversation during the Unite For America Rally on Thursday night (Sept. 19), VP Harris confirmed her ownership of a firearm and her readiness to pull the trigger if needed.
“I’m a gun owner, Tim Walz is a gun owner… If somebody breaks into my house, they’re getting shot,” shared the Democratic politician before laughing. “Probably should not have said that. My staff will deal with that later.”
She continued to detail, “Here’s my point, Oprah. I’m not trying to take everyone’s guns away. I believe in the Second Amendment,” adding, “These are just common sense.”

In her campaign for the White House, Harris previously revealed that she owned a gun during the debate against former President Donald Trump after he claimed she would “confiscate everybody’s gun,” according to BBC.
“We’re not taking anyone’s guns away, so stop with the continuous lying about this stuff,” Harris responded.
The Vice President also previously shared the information in 2019 while running in the Democratic presidential primary, per CNN.
According to her campaign website, Harris promises to “ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, require universal background checks, and support red flag laws that keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people” if elected president.
She also plans to “continue to invest in funding law enforcement, including the hiring and training of officers and people to support them, and will build upon proven gun violence prevention programs that have helped reduce violent crime throughout the country.”
The Unite For America rally posted 400 in-person guests and 20,000 viewers on the livestream according to The Guardian. Celebrity guests included Tracee Ellis Ross, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Chris Rock, and Ben Stiller.
?I wanna bring my daughters to the White House to meet this Black woman president,” Rock said. “I think she will make a great president and I’m ready to turn the page. All the hate and negativity, it’s gotta stop.”
