Kamala Harris, Tim Walz to sit for first interview since launching campaign

WASHINGTON –  Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, will sit down with CNN for their first joint interview since they launched their campaign, the network announced Tuesday.

CNN anchor Dana Bash will conduct the interview, which is slated to air on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.

Harris said several weeks ago that she planned to set up an interview before the end of August. The vice president has faced pressure since she launched her campaign at the end of July to formally sit down with a journalist to answer questions about her candidacy.

Some of the sharpest criticism has come from Republican vice presidential nominee and Ohio Sen. JD Vance. After landing at the same Wisconsin airport as Harris earlier this month, Vance questioned: “why does she refuse to answer questions from the media?”

Former President Donald Trump and Vance have sat down for multiple media interviews since the Republican National Convention in July.
