Kansas gov. orders flags to half-staff statewide, here’s why
TOPEKA (KSNT) – Kansas Governor Laura Kelly is ordering flags to be lowered across the Sunflower State Friday.
Kelly’s order directs flags to be lowered on all state buildings, grounds and facilities immediately to half-staff until sundown on the burial day of Kansas State Representative Marvin Robinson. A Kansas City, Kansas resident, he passed away at the age of 67 and has represented Kansas House District 35 since 2023.
“Representative Robinson showed a commitment to public service throughout his time in the Navy and the Kansas Legislature,” Kelly said. “My thoughts go out to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
The flag order will be updated when the day of Robinson’s interment is announced.
