Keeley Hawes to lead cast of new thriller from team behind The Tourist
Keeley Hawes will front the cast of new thriller The Assassin, from the team behind The Tourist.
The Bodyguard and It's a Sin actor will star as a retired assassin named Julie, alongside The Good Doctor and Bates Motel's Freddie Highmore as her estranged son Edward.
Edward comes to visit Julie on the remote Greek island where she lives, with questions about who his father is. That plan goes quickly south when something much darker from Julie's past rears its head, and the two must go on the run to try and survive.
And even if they don't get killed, Julie and Edward might find that the conspiracy at the heart of it all could destroy any chance of a relationship for good.

Filming has begun in Greece, with The Tourist's Harry and Jack Williams serving as creators and writers, with their company Two Brothers Pictures producing for Prime Video.
Other cast members currently announced include Pirates of the Caribbean's Jack Davenport, Riverdale's Gina Gershon, Game of Thrones' Richard Dormer, Baby Reindeer's Shalom Brune-Franklin, Devon Terrell, Gerald Kyd, David Dencik, and Neighbours legend Alan Dale.
More cast members are set to be announced in due course.

No release window has been confirmed yet, but The Assassin will comprise of six hour-long episodes.
