Keith Urban to perform at Illinois State Fair
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — Officials with the Illinois State Fair announced that famed country music star Keith Urban will perform at the Illinois State Fair this summer, joined by special guest MacKenzie Porter.
Urban is an acclaimed musician and live performer, achieving nine consecutive gold, platinum or multi-platinum albums. He has also won four Grammy Awards, thirteen Country Music Awards, fifteen Academy of Country Music Awards, three American Music Awards, two People’s Choice Awards. Last year, Dolly Parton inducted Urban into the Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.
M?tley Crüe ready to rock the 2024 Illinois State Fair
Some of Urban’s most recognizable songs include “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” “Wasted Time,” “Somebody Like You,” and “Long Hot Summer.” His duet with pop singer P!nk, “One Too Many,” marked his 43rd Top 10 single and garnered over 100 million Spotify streams.
Urban is also known as a judge, mentor, and performer on the iconic singing competition reality show, American Idol. He has also appeared on NBC’s The Voice, and held a Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
“Keith Urban is a country music legend, and we are delighted to bring him to the Illinois State Fair Grandstand,” Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark said. “His music spans decades and appeals to generations of fans.”
A yet-unnamed album full of new music by Urban is set to be released later this year.
Illinois State Fair adds Jordan Davis to Grandstand lineup
MacKenzie Porter rose to fame following her hit song, “These Days,” and her chart-topping duet with Dustin Lynch, “Thinking ‘Bout You.” She earned a nomination for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year at the 2023 Country Music Television Awards for her song, “Pickup.” Her new song, “Nobody’s Born With A Broken Heart,” will be released April 26.
Porter has toured alongside a number of fellow country music stars, including Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Walker Hayes, Brad Paisley, Dallas Smith, Rascal Flatts, and Jordan Davis — who will also be taking the stage at this year’s State Fair. Now, Porter is adding Keith Urban to the list.
Urban and Porter will be taking the stage on Friday, Aug. 9. Tickets will be sold on Ticketmaster starting this Saturday, March 9 at 10 a.m.
Tickets for all other announced shows — including Jordan Davis, M?tley Crüe, and Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit — are on sale now.
