Kellyanne Conway chose to “personally” thank the hosts of The View following former U.S. President Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election.

Conway, a former Trump campaign manager and senior counselor to Trump during his first administration, made her remarks while speaking on Fox News shortly after the network called the race for the businessman and former reality TV star. Trump, 78, defeated Vice President Kamala Harris, 60, who was running at the top of the Democratic ticket with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz serving as the Democratic Party’s vice presidential nominee.

“I’d personally like to thank the women of The View tonight for asking those questions, for having her on,” Conway said, referencing Harris’ Oct. 8 appearance on the ABC talk show. The Republican strategist suggested that The View’s hosts and media personalities in similar positions “thought they were doing her a favor because they made her something she’s not.” She later added, “I think they helped Donald Trump,” according to Newsweek.

Conway also criticized Harris as a candidate while sharing her thoughts on the outcome of the Nov. 5 election. “I think that, when the Democrats take a look at this candidacy, it’s not going to be that she had too much time, not enough time,” Conway said, adding that she believed Harris was “just a flawed candidate.”

“She doesn’t speak well, she doesn’t work hard,” Conway alleged. "I’m not being mean or partisan. I don’t know why the country would have rewarded this candidate with the big job, when she couldn’t make the case what she does as vice president that affects our lives in a positive way.”

Harris drew criticism for her appearance on The View last month, largely due to her response to a question posed by co-host Sunny Hostin. When asked if she would have done anything differently from President Joe Biden if she were in his shoes over the last four years, Harris responded by saying, “There is not a thing that comes to mind” and added that she has “been a part of most of the decisions that have had impact,” as seen in a clip the show later shared on X, formerly Twitter.
