Wild indeed. Or, perhaps, just regular Kardashian antics.
Looks like Khloe Kardashian may be taking beauty cues from sister-in-law-to-be Blac Chyna. The reality TV star hit Instagram showing of a set of messy Bantu knots, complimenting her Raider’s T-shirt, over-the-knee boots, and black choker with the words “KoKo” emblazoned on it.
Blac Chyna, who is currently pregnant with the baby of Khloe’s brother Rob Kardashian, sported an intricate set of Bantu knots back in April for an event she threw with her friend Amber Rose.

Chyna’s look was far more elaborate, however, with larger knots and microbraids dispersed throughout the ‘do to add an extra cool factor. Khloe took a different route with hers, opting for a less defined version of Chyna’s decidedly crisp hairstyle.
Bantu knots seem to be trending — Teyana Taylor recently stunned Instagram followers recently with a two-toned version of the look, which featured grey streaks of hair.

As Bantu knots are a hairstyle commonly worn by black women, originating from the Zulu tribes of Southern Africa, there were of course folks calling Khloe out for being appropriative. But others don’t see the big deal. “She’s just trying out a hairstyle,” @alice.petite wrote.
The Kardashians are no strangers to hairstyles favored by women of color — or to the criticisms that often follow. After all, as @calipeach1169 pointed out, the styles are “only celebrated when white chicks rock our style. Otherwise it’s ghetto and unprofessional.” It’s an argument that frequently comes up in instances of appropriation, and it’s one that has been made countless times, especially lately.

But whether you’re feeling Khloe’s look or not, one thing is for certain – she sure knows how to get tongues wagging.
