Kim Kardashian praised as she slams Donald Trump's controversial Puerto Rico tweet
Kim Kardashian has never been one to keep quiet on issues close to her heart, and the reality star has won new praise after publicly slamming President Donald Trump on Twitter following his controversial tweet to the people of Puerto Rico.
The entire island of Puerto Rico has been left without electricity since Hurricane Maria hit last month, with the devastation being described as a ‘humanitarian disaster’ by officials.
Celebrities have come out in force to donate money to the citizens, who are also struggling for basic necessities, such as food and water – with rapper Pitbull even using his own private jet to transfer cancer patients from the island to America so that they can continue with their life-saving treatment.
However, Trump has come under fire for seemingly not doing enough to help the island, with the businessman-turned-politician sparking outcry when he tweeted: “To the people of Puerto Rico: Do not believe the #FakeNews! #PRStrong” yesterday.
Kim hit back: “They don’t have power to watch the news!!! Please stop tweeting & golfing while people are dying! Please step up & help!”

The star was quickly inundated with praise from her followers, with the tweet racking up hundreds of thousands of likes and retweets within minutes.
The mum-of-two, who recently confirmed that she is expecting her third baby via surrogate, had previously tweeted that she has donated to help the people of Puerto Rico, urging her followers to give what they can.
Kim also recently revealed that all proceeds from her Vogue Mexico cover will be going to help those affected by the recent earthquake in Mexico, which killed over 300 people and left thousands of citizens injured.
Meanwhile, Beyonce shared last week that she will be releasing a special remix of J Balvin’s ‘Mi Gente’, donating all proceeds to charities helping Puerto Rico, Mexico, and other Caribbean islands which have recently been affected by natural disasters.
It will be the star’s first song since giving birth to twins in June this year.
