Kit Harington has shared an update on his possible return to the MCU as Black Knight.

The Game of Thrones star made his Marvel debut in Eternals, where he played Sersi's (Gemma Chan) boyfriend Dane Whitman — who was teased to return as the comic book superhero in the film's end credits scene.

Speaking to Screen Rant, Harington revealed that he hopes he can reprise his role, but confirmed that nothing is currently in the works.

"I hope that they do something with that character. I think that character is fascinating and brilliant. And I love his trajectory in the comics," he said.

"I love the idea of a good guy being turned bad by his superpower. I think that's brilliant. I'm not sure whether we've had a protagonist that's like that, so I think it's a really strong idea. I'd love them to [revisit him].

"I don't know, though. The honest answer is nothing's in the works at the moment. If they decide to use the character in something, or as a solo thing, I'd be very excited by it. But I don't think it's planned at the moment."

Harington's character notably spends much of the movie on the sidelines, watching Sersi try to save the world from the Celestials and learning about her past.

In the post-credits scene, he is inspecting the Ebony Blade, which comic book fans will know is what leads to his transformation into the infamous Black Knight — though there's been no indication as to how Marvel will tell this story.

Harington will next be seen in action thriller Blood for Dust, which has received critical acclaim following its premiere at the Tribeca Festival in June 2023.

The film is directed by Rod Blackhurst, and also stars Narcos: Mexico's Scoot McNairy, Yellowstone's Josh Lucas, True Detective's Stephen Dorff, The Butterfly Effect's Ethan Suplee and The Right Stuff's Nora Zehetner.

Eternals is streaming on Disney+.
