What to know about Kamala Harris' interview with Fox News this week
With fewer than three weeks left until the Nov. 5 election, Vice President Kamala Harris is turning to a new venue to reach undecided voters: A sit-down interview on Fox News.
The network’s chief political anchor, Bret Baier, is slated to interview Harris Wednesday in Pennsylvania, a battleground swing state where she currently has a four-point lead over former President Donald Trump. The interview will air that night at 6 p.m. ET.
Though she largely avoided sit-down interviews with traditional news outlets at the beginning of her campaign, Harris has ramped up media appearances as the election draws nearer. She sat down with CNN for her first interview as a presidential candidate at the end of August and appeared on CBS’ “60 Minutes” last week.
In her Fox News interview, she is reaching across the aisle, becoming the first Democratic presidential candidate to appear on the network since 2016, when Hillary Clinton sat down for an interview with Chris Wallace.
When will Kamala Harris’ interview be on Fox News?
The interview will air on Fox News’ “Special Report” on Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. ET.
Who is hosting Fox News’ interview with Kamala Harris?
Harris will be interviewed by Bret Baier, Fox News’ chief political anchor, the anchor and executive editor of “Special Report,” and host of “The Bret Baier Podcast.”
According to the National Press Foundation, Baier joined the network in 1998 as the first reporter in the Atlanta bureau. He has interviewed leading political figures from both parties and is one of the few members of Fox News who does not work as a conservative commentator.
How long will the interview last?
Harris will sit with Bair for roughly 25-30 minutes of questions, the New York Times reported.
How can I watch the interview?
The interview will air on the Fox News channel. However, viewers without cable can access the network through a live TV streaming service that carries the channel, such as DirecTV Stream, Sling Blue, fubo or Hulu + Live TV.
