Lanes on MacArthur Bridge scheduled to reopen in Raleigh County
RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — Lanes of the MacArthur Bridge are scheduled to reopen towards the end of August 2024.
According to a press release from the West Virginia Department of Transportation, on Monday, August 26, 2024, all four lanes of the MacArthur bridge are planned to be reopened.
Road closure to partially reopen in part of Raleigh County
The West Virginia Department of Transportation stated that the MacArthur Bridge takes Robert C. Byrd Drive/WV 16 over the West Virginia Turnpike exit and entrance ramps at the Mabscott exit in Raleigh County.
The press release stated that in May 2023, around a $4.3 million contract was given to Vecellio and Grogan Incorporated for the bridge project, which started in June 2023, and included cleaning, painting, and other improvements.

According to the press release, Phase 2 of the project ends with the reopening of the lanes of the bridge.
The press release from the West Virginia Department of Transportation stated that the final phase of the project could include lane closures, with spring 2025 as an estimated end date for the project.
