All lanes on SB I-71 in Oldham County closed due to 3-truck crash

A collision involving two dump trucks and a tractor trailer has closed all southbound lanes on Interstate 71, Major Scott Wolf with Oldham County Police said Tuesday.

"We're just waiting on wreckers to get to the scene so we can get the vehicles removed and traffic back open again," Wolf said.

Wolf said there was one injury, but it was non-life threatening.

Wof said TRIMARC estimated the closure would last four hours after 8 a.m. and a sergeant that responded to the scene estimated clearing the roadway may take an additional one or two hours.

"So tentatively around noon or so until the roadway is opened," he said.

Officials are getting cars off I-71 through a new interchange that is under construction and back on the interstate through southbound Route 393, Wolf said.
