Lara Trump expressed concern for Donald Trump's safety days before shooting
Days before former President Donald Trump was grazed by a bullet at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, his daughter-in-law expressed concern for his safety in the upcoming election.
Just three days leading up to the shooting, Lara Trump appeared on a podcast with Sage Steele. The interview discussed everyday life for Lara Trump including working out, taking care of her children or her work with the Republican National Committee. She also discussed Doanld Trump's safety and the Secret Service's work to protect him.
Trump announced he is doing OK since the shooting. Corey Comperatore, a Pennsylvania resident, was killed in the shooting and two others were seriously injured. The suspected gunman, Thomas Crooks, was killed by the Secret Service after the shooting.
Who is Lara Trump?
Lara Trump is the former president's daughter-in-law. She is married to Donald Trump's son, Eric Trump. She has been equally as supportive of her father-in-law's presidential campaigns since 2016.
In March, Lara Trump secured a job as the co-chair of the Republican National Committee. She is also the host of a conservative podcast called "The Right View with Lara Trump."
What did Lara Trump say about Donald Trump's safety in the Sage Steel interview?
Steele asked Laura Trump if she ever fears for her father-in-law's safety. Laura Trump responded that the former president doesn't think about it "that much."
"I'm sure the Secret Service go crazy all the time, because he's like, 'I want to go over and say hi to all these people,' and they're like, 'Sir ...'" Lara rump said. "But you know, that's why he is doing it. He wants to connect with people."

Lara Trump went on to say that being personal with voters is one of Donald Trump's strong suits.
"That's where he shines and you really see the true nature of this man," Lara Trump told Steele. "You can put him in any crowd ... It doesn't matter where you send Donald Trump. He is authentic to the core and sometimes to a fault, I think, for some people. And he wants to be out there among people."
Lara said she was very concerned for Donald Trump's safety regardless of whether he is.
"But I think about it a lot, certainly, and I know those of us who are close to him think about it a lot," Lara Trump said.
