Lawyer Claims Diddy’s Celebrity Friends Are Paying Off Victims To Dash Lawsuits
Tony Buzbee, a Texas-based lawyer, claims that celebrities implicated in lawsuits targeting Diddy have stayed anonymous because they are paying and settling with the victims out of the spotlight, per the Blast.
Buzbee, who is currently working with over 120 people claiming that Sean Combs sexually assaulted them, stated that he and his team have remained mum on naming these celeb friends due to wanting to make sure that they “have done their homework.”
However, some celebrities haven’t heeded Tony’s law firm’s warning and are set to be sued in the coming weeks if they don’t settle with the victims in private.
“In every single case, especially cases like this… because it’s in the best interests of the victim, we attempt to resolve these matters without the filing of a public lawsuit, and we’ve done that already with a handful of individuals, many of which you’ve heard of before,” Buzbee told TMZ.
“We want to make sure if we name individuals beyond Mr. Combs that we have done our homework because it is going to create a firestorm, and we understand that.”
Buzbee also spoke of coming after those who observed the alleged horrors of these “Freak Offs” but remained silent and complicit through it all. The lawyer insisted that anyone who had something to do with Sean Combs’ crimes would be brought to justice. Buzbee detailed his rationale, saying, “If you were there in the room, participated, watched it happen, and didn’t say anything or helped cover it up, in my view, you have a problem.”
Buzbee previously held a press conference to announce that over 120 victims claimed Diddy sexually assaulted them. The crimes allegedly transpired over the past 25 years, with some of the victims being minors at the time of the abuse.
One alleged incident went down at the Bad Boy Records headquarters in New York City when one of the victims was nine years old. Buzbee stated that the child was attempting to get a record deal when Combs and other people in the studio allegedly sexually abused the boy. Another alleged victim claimed Combs forced him to give the mogul oral sex with the promise of “making him a star.”
