Your voter guide for Michigan's August primary election: See who's on the ballot
Amid all the visits Michigan's seen lately from the presidential candidates — as well as a lot of other news involving a switch among presumptive Democratic nominees, an assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump and more — it would be understandable if some voters lost track of our upcoming August 6 primary.
Yes, there's an election right around the corner. And while it doesn't carry the cache of a presidential primary ? we had those way back in February, in what seems now like a universe, politically speaking ? these are important.
That's why we're providing you with a handy-dandy voter's guide right here. Here's what to know.
What are the key Michigan August primary election races?
Our voter guide provides details about the candidates in competitive primaries vying for their parties' nominations to the major races to be decided in the general election on Nov. 5, including:
? Michigan's open U.S. Senate seat

How do I vote in the 2024 Michigan August primary election?
Absentee voting has already begun for the Michigan primaries and statewide early in-person voting will begin on Saturday, July 27. And of course, there will be in-person voting on Election Day, Aug. 6.

Remember, if you're not registered to vote already and you want to vote in the Democratic or Republican primary, you'll need to visit your local clerk's office and register in person with proof of residency documentation. You can learn more about that, deadlines and locations for early voting and getting and submitting an absentee ballot at Michigan.gov/Vote.
