Lexi Birmingham marks final days on WKRG

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Meteorologist Lexi Birmingham is leaving us this week. Here’s a look at a brief good-bye on Sunday morning:

Chad: It’s a bit of a sad morning for us here on WKRG because this is one of the last times that I’m going to be able to ask you about the weather on air, because this is your last week here with us at WKRG, you’ve been here with us on the weekend for the last two years. How does it feel?

Lexi: It’s been so much fun. It’s been great not having to set my alarm clock for five days out of the week. You’ve made the weekend so much fun. Of course. Shout out to you, Chad. Shout out to our producer, Jonathan and director John and of course, our associate producer, Malcolm for making the weekend so much fun. It’s not easy waking up at 2:00 in the morning. And of course, I’ll still be filling in for Ed for Monday, Tuesday evening. So this is not a complete goodbye, but these are my last weekend shows. So thank you all so much for tuning in on the weekends. I was surprised during the weather radio events how many of you said I tune in every weekend morning to watch you and Chad. That really warmed to my heart because I’m like, who’s waking up so early on a Saturday and Sunday morning?

Chad: Well, you’re definitely prompt, you’re professional. You always know what you’re talking about. You’re going to be missed here for sure. And we’ve really enjoyed having you as part of our team.
