LIST: Local places accepting donations, volunteers for flood victims in the Tri-Cities

TRI-CITIES, Tenn. (WJHL) — Several area businesses and non-profit organizations are lending a hand following devastating flooding in the Tri-Cities.

News Channel 11 has compiled a list of places accepting item donations and volunteers below:

LIST: Boil water notices issued across the region

  • UNITED WAY OF EAST TENN. HIGHLANDS

    • The United Way is asking anyone who can volunteer in cleanup efforts and can safely make it to meet at the Parks and Rec Department at 300 W Mill Drive. Item donations are also being accepted. Volunteers will then go with city employees to areas of need to deliver donations and clean up debris. This location also serves as a pickup spot for those in need.

    • Items requested at the above location are as follows: Packs of bottled water, canned items, new clothing, footwear, socks, baby formula, and diapers.

  • AMERICAN RED CROSS OF TENNESSEE

  • SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK

    • “Second Harvest of Northeast Tennessee is on alert in the eight counties! If any county shelter or Emergency Management needs food or water, please Call Tom Cromie, Operations Director, at 423-794-0448. We are ready to mobilize if needed. Individuals, please don’t call; use Facebook messenger for locations for assistance.”

  • LOWES

    • Lowe’s stores in Newport, Elizabethton, Jonesborough, and Johnson City will host Bucket Brigade events on Monday at 9 a.m. to distribute free clean-up supplies.

  • Region A.H.E.A.D.

  • WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN

    • Crossroads Christian Church, 1300 Suncrest Drive in Gray, will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Items needed are blankets, towels, water (gallons or bottles), hygiene products, diapers, and formula.

    • The Jonesborough Community Chest said it would accept donations of nonperishable food items, toiletries and water at the Jonesborough/Washington County Library at 200 Sabin Dr.

    • David Crockett High School is accepting donations but said they have enough clothing.

    • Limestone Volunteer Fire Department will distribute water beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday at Grandview Elementary.

  • JOHNSON CITY

    • Johnson City Doughboys: Item donations can be brought to the front office at Memorial Park Community Center from Sept. 30-Oct. 4, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (Those donating will get two free tickets to next season’s home game)

    • Holiday Lanes: “We are a drop-off hub for donations for anything people affected by the flooding may need. Clothes, non-perishable foods, baby formula, etc. We will make sure it gets to the people who need it. Any donations are greatly appreciated.”

    • Til Death Tattoo: “With so many people being left without, Til Death Tattoo will gladly act as a hub for donations for people and families left without due to this massive disaster. If you are able, please donate all-size clothing, shoes, baby needs (formula, diapers, clothes, blankets, pack and plays, etc.), children’s needs (shoes, clothes, toys, etc.), blankets, towels, sheets, hygiene products, non-perishable foods, info on rentals and housing, air mattresses, water…anything you think may help.”

    • Johnson City Schools: Bottled water, non-perishable food items, and toiletries can be dropped off at Science Hill High School Drill Hall until 5 p.m. on Saturday.

    • Tennessee Title Loans is accepting donations for people and animals affected by the flood until further notice at 601 West Market Street, Johnson City, TN.

    • S-A.M&E Project: Accepting bottled water, toiletries, non-perishable food, undergarments, hygiene essentials, blankets, and anything else useful at 300 W. Chilhowie Avenue, Johnson City, TN, on Monday from 12-8 p.m.

    • Terrarium Plant Store: Accepting donations from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 221 E. Main Street.

    • The Youth Building at 2684 Boones Creek Road is accepting donations of blankets, sleeping bags, water, toiletries, baby items, etc.

    • Blue’s Brews Company: Accepting donations of clothing, shoes, blankets, candles and non-perishable food items.

    • 4thirTEEN: Accepting donations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday until Friday. Drop off at the lower level of Freedom Hall Civic Center by the pool area and tennis courts, located at 1320 Pactolas Road. There will be trucks ready to be loaded that will be distributed on Wednesday and Friday. Requested donations include batteries, flashlights, chargers, jugs of water, kids’ shoes in all sizes, women’s hygiene products, canned goods, and baby formula.

    • Euphoria Hair Salon at 406 Roy Martin Road, Suite 3, is accepting donations.

    • Heal U Wellness: 110 Corporate Drive Suite 100. Needed items include bottled water, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene items and non-perishable food.

    • Academy Sports: “(9/29) starting at 4 p.m., Academy Sports + Outdoors in Johnson City will be distributing free 24-packs of bottled water to help those affected by Hurricane Helene. Customers can look for the 18-wheeler parked in front of the store to pick up their free case of bottled water (no purchase necessary). Academy will be donating nearly 1,600 24-packs of water in total to the Johnson City area.”

    • The Alter Fellowship Church is accepting donations. They are also open as a shelter for wifi, food, power, bathroom needs, etc.

  • GREENEVILLE

    • Please send financial donations to AIDNET of Greene County at PO Box 2622, Greeneville, TN 37744. Other donation options will be available in the coming days. All donations will stay in Greene County for Long-Term Recovery.

  • UNICOI/ERWIN

    • Unicoi Co. Middle School: Dog food, cat food and crates

    • Southside Baptist Church: Donation drop-off and pickup.

    • The new site collecting donations for those impacted in Unicoi County will be the Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church at 910 Hoback Street in Erwin. The donation center will be open every day from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily. Items needed include trash bags, batteries, medical supplies, etc.

  • ELIZABETHTON/CARTER COUNTY

    • Elizabethton Elk Lodge: Pick-up and drop-off of essential needs. 1000 N Sycamore Street.

    • Elizabethton Parks and Rec office, 300 W Mill Drive.

    • Elizabethton High School is accepting blankets and pillows for its shelter.

    • A shower trailer will be available at the TLC Community Center beginning Saturday afternoon. There will also be food, clothing and hygiene products at the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department on Hope Street near Hunter Elementary School.

    • The Elizabethton Park and Recreation Center on Mill Street will accept donations at 8 a.m. on Saturday. The center requests bottled water, canned food, new clothing, footwear and socks, baby formula and diapers. Please do not donate used items.

    • The Altar Fellowship is accepting donations of water, new clothing, diapers, blankets and generators. The church is also open as a day center for people who need power, WiFi, bathrooms, food and support. The church is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

  • BRISTOL, Tenn./SULLIVAN CO.

    • Tennessee Middle School: Donation acceptance starting Sept. 30 in the front parking lot.

    • Blountville Auto Salvage, Blountville Hardware, Carl’s Auto, Pleasant Hill Church; those with questions should call or text 423-482-1220.

    • Tennessee High School: 1 p.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at box truck parked in front of the school. Items requested include blankets, pillows, flashlights, water bottles, baby needs, shoes, socks, and hygiene items.

    • Tennessee Title Loans is accepting donations for people and animals affected by the flood at 2742 West State Street, Suite 2, Bristol, TN, beginning on Monday until further notice.

    • Sullivan East High School will accept donations of cases of water from 7-10 p.m. on Saturday at the main entrance of the school.

    • Lighthouse Christian School: Accepting donations of water, pet supplies, diapers, wipes, non-perishables, etc. Donations can be dropped off at 145 Shipp Springs Road in Kingsport. The school will accept donations on Monday for the Jonesborough Community Chest, which will be distributed to area shelters.

    • Bristol Orthotics & Prosthetics: “We are asking our patients to donate and we will coordinate with local agencies to provide food water and footwear to those in need. Also we can assist with anyone that lost prosthetic supplies or devices in the flood.”

  • BRISTOL, VA.

    • The Bristol Boo-Tique is accepting donations for online or in-person readings on Saturday until 7 p.m. and online only on Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. The boutique will accept and all contributions.

  • MARION

    • Smyth County Public Safety has opened a temporary donation center at the Old Wells Fargo Building at 102 East Main Street in Marion. The donation center is Sept. 30 until 5 p.m. Daily hours will be posted to Facebook. Items needed include bottled water, self-stable food, cleaning supplies, gas cards, travel-sized toiletries, feminine hygiene products, tools such as shovels and rakes, toys for children, diapers, baby food and formula. Smyth County Public Safety asks that people please not bring clothing to donate.

    • According to Marion spokesperson Ken Heath. those interested in making cash donations to Smyth County hurricane relief can send them to “Smyth County Treasurer, ATT: Emergency Disaster Response; PO Box 549; Marion, VA 24354.”
