Little Mix and more massive stars made some fans' dreams come true by surprising them on stage as part of a moving Children in Need programme.

A segment called Project Sing aired as part of BBC One's Children in Need appeal on Friday night (November 16), and it saw people funded by the charitable group come together to work on a music video.

All of these very deserving musicians assumed they'd just be pitching in on a small project, but they were astounded when some of the biggest stars of stage and screen - including Little Mix, Sheridan Smith, Olly Murs, Craig David and Alfie Boe - joined them.

It was a hugely inspirational segment that tugged at the heartstrings of many of those watching at home:

The experience was obviously hugely rewarding for Olly Murs, who tweeted before the segment aired: "Had an absolute blast meeting some amazing project workers for @BBCCiN. Watch, donate and do your thing tonight!"

The incredible night of Children in Need programming also included a Boyzone special edition of Strictly Come Dancing, the EastEnders cast paying tribute to the music of Disney and the stars of Doctor Who meeting two very special young fans.
