'Lord of the Rings' actor Elijah Wood grabs a bite at downtown Detroit's Dime Store
A touch of Hollywood was found in the Motor City Friday when “Lord of the Rings” actor Elijah Wood stopped into popular downtown Detroit lunch/brunch spot Dime Store.
“OMG, OMG, OMG,” staff posted to the restaurant’s social media pages. “We were in full geek out mode today in Detroit when our homeboy from The Shire, Frodo Baggins, dined with us at Dime Store. Actor & producer Elijah Wood, best known for his role in ‘The Lord of the Rings,’ brought out smiles & excitement from staff & guests alike because really, who doesn’t love Frodo?! By all accounts, he’s a super nice guy & even took some time to take pictures with our staff.
“Thanks for being such a good sport, Elijah. We’re huge fans; it was truly an honor to have you as our guest.”

Wood is no stranger to the Detroit region; as a featured celebrity at 2021’s Motor City Comic Con, he even assisted a man in proposing to his girlfriend.
(She said yes.)
