Lost 'Aliens' sequel teased by director Neill Blomkamp
Many Alien fans will be aware that Chappie director Neill Blomkamp was once on board to make a new instalment in the franchise — a project that is pretty much officially dead now, sadly.
However, that's never stopped anyone from speculating that the film could one day be made — and now the man behind District 9 has got people going once again by sharing two more images of potential artwork for his scrapped film.
And it's safe to say that fans are excited all over again.

One of the images shows an Alien ascending a ventilation shaft, with a human shoe shown at the edge of the shaft to give a terrifying first-person perspective.
The second image shows a concept drawing of a spacecraft in a hangar, with a person standing beside it for scale.

Alien: Awakening, which would have been produced by Ridley Scott, was even planning to bring Sigourney Weaver's Ripley back and the new images have got Aliens and Blomkamp fans hoping for the sequel to see the light of day all over again.
Unfortunately, Scott has previously said he doesn't think the film "will ever see the light of day".
"There was never a script," he added. "Just an idea that evolved from a dozen or so pages."
Blomkamp himself has also been just as downbeat about the possibility of the film being made, saying: "I think it's totally dead."
He added: "It's sad. I spent a long time working on that, and I feel like it was really pretty awesome.
"But politically, the way it's gone now, and the way that it all is — it's just not going to live."
The most recent film in the Alien franchise was this year's Alien: Covenant, which is the sixth instalment in the franchise overall.
