Lots of funny business in store as the 2024 Lucille Ball Comedy Festival kicks off
The Lucille Ball Comedy Festival kicks off Friday evening at the National Comedy Center in Jamestown, New York.
The event that runs through Aug. 4 is a celebration of Lucille Ball’s hometown and of standup comedy. Headliners include “Nailed It” host Nicole Byer, who is performing Friday night.

Grammy-nominated comedian Nate Bargatze’s Saturday performance is sold out, but tickets are still available for Friday’s exciting lineup.
“On Friday, we have a comedy showcase, which is an incredible opportunity to see some of the top touring talent that there is in comedy. This is a show that you have to go to LA or NY to see, right here in your backyard in Jamestown. We also have late-night comedy as well and again top talent that you can only see right here,” said Kate Welshofer, communications strategist, National Comedy Center.
Erie Anime-Fest coming back for round two this weekend
The comedy center expects 15,000 people to attend the festival.
Hundreds of volunteers from the area also pitch in to make the event possible.
