Lottie Tomlinson To Tour With Selena Gomez As Her Make-Up Artist
We love nothing more than proof that hard work and graft pays off, and Lottie Tomlinson is no exception.
The seventeen-year-old, and the sister of One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson, left high school and immediately asked 1D’s hair and make-up artist Lou Teasdale for an internship, and despite her famous connections she did not get an easy ride.
Lou has repeatedly defended Lottie’s success in the industry, insisting that the teen has worked harder than any other intern that she’s had and when they both toured around the globe with One Direction, Lottie was often up before dawn and left with menial tasks such as lugging crates of products around and cleaning up everybody’s work stations.
After a year on the road with her brother, Lottie continued working with Lou at the Bleach London salon as well as backstage at London Fashion Week, proving that she is a force to be reckoned with in the MUA world.
Now Lottie has revealed that her hard work has been seriously rewarded with international megastar Selena Gomez hiring her as her hair and make-up artist for her upcoming tour.
MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS, LOTTIE.
Speaking about how the incredible gig came about, Lottie explained to Elle magazine: “She [Selena] was on X Factor in the UK at the same time as [One Direction] were. We met backstage.
"She came to Lou to ask her to do her hair. She had really long hair at the time and it was getting all knotted up. So I was assisting Lou with her hair and she asked for a make-up touchup.
"I said, ‘Sure, I can do that!’ And she liked it, and we’re still in contact.”
However, the starlet admits that she is a little bit nervous to be flying solo this time around, adding: “I’m leaving in May, and the first bit is just over two months. The whole tour is for the rest of the year.
"I’m in quite a good position because I’ve done the One Direction tour already, so I know a lot of what to expect. But it’s different because I’ll be on my own at first; I won’t have my brother or Lou or anyone with me.
"So I’ll have to meet people and make friends. That’s the part that’s the hardest, just not knowing who I’ll be with, when I’m so used to being on tour with people I’m really close with. Hopefully my family will come visit from time to time, and make it easier.”
We’re sure you’ll be absolutely fine, love - and by the sounds of it, it’s something that you’re going to soon get used to because we imagine that your skills are soon going to be in very high demand.
