Louisiana leaders react after Donald Trump shot on stage at rally, person in crowd killed

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Louisiana leaders are reacting after Donald Trump was shot in the ear and whisked off the stage at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania after gunshots rang through the crowd.

One person in the crowd was killed, and the shooter is dead, per a statement from the United States Secret Service.

According to the Associated Press, Trump was showing a chart of border crossings during his last rally before the Republican National Convention begins on Monday when bangs started ringing through the crowd.

The Republican presidential nominee could be seen extending his right hand toward his face. According to the Associated Press, there appeared to be blood on his face.

Trump later posted on Truth Social on Saturday that he was shot by a bullet in his right ear and “much bleeding took place.”
