Louisiana man, woman charged after interstate drive-by shooting left one dead
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Deputies arrested two suspects in connection with a deadly shooting on the interstate in Ascension Parish.
According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Aniyah Williams, 18, of Baton Rouge, and Quinndarius Dabney, 19, of Donaldsonville, were arrested.
Detectives found Chakerus Hamilton Jr. shot to death in his car around 3 a.m. Friday, March 29, on I-10 East in Prairieville.
Dabney was charged with first-degree murder, assault by drive-by shooting, illegal use of weapons, and aggravated damage to property. “Willams is charged with principal to the mentioned offenses,” according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said Dabney was apprehended by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and will be transported to the Ascension Parish Jail. Williams was booked into the jail.
