Louisiana State Police investigating crash that killed motorcyclist in Livingston Parish
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — An investigation is ongoing after a motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Livingston Parish.
The Louisiana State Police said Jeremy Herrin, 46, of Maurepas was killed while riding a 2022 Yamaha motorcycle on Louisiana Highway 444 at Louisiana Highway 63. Troopers responded to the scene around 5:30 a.m. on Aug. 22 and initiated an investigation.
According to LSP, Herrin was riding a motorcycle west on Louisiana Highway 444 while a 2011 Nissan Frontier was traveling eastbound on the same highway, approaching the intersection of Louisiana Highway 63.
Troopers said the Nissan did not yield while making a left turn onto Louisiana Highway 63 before Herrin’s motorcycle struck the Nissan on the passenger side.
Herrin was thrown from the motorcycle, LSP said. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet but died at the crash scene.
The driver of the Nissan was wearing a seat belt and did not sustain any injuries.
