Louisiana in top three states with low vaccine rates, study says
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A study found Louisiana has one of the lowest COVID-19 vaccination rates in the US.
Personal injury lawyers at Zinda Law Group analyzed CDC data. They found the percentage of people 18 and older vaccinated against COVID-19 in each state.
The study said Louisiana has the second-lowest COVID-19 vaccination rate. Only 70% of adults are vaccinated. An estimated 1,051,980 residents 18 and older have not received any vaccinations. According to the study, around 431,312 people in the state received an updated dose between 2023 and 2024.
Wyoming had the lowest COVID-19 vaccine rate, with 64% of adults being vaccinated. Oklahoma has the third-lowest vaccine rate with only 70.6% vaccinated adults.
Rhode Island and Massachusetts have the highest COVID-19 vaccination rate at 90.1%, according to the study.
