Man allegedly shoots former co-worker on his lunch break

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was shot by his former coworker in southeast Shelby County last month, according to Memphis Police.

Kenneth Shaw, 27, is charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder and Employment of a Firearm to Commit a Dangerous Felony.

A little after 12 p.m. on June 24, the victim was standing outside a gas station on Mendenhall during his lunch break.

His former coworker, Shaw, reportedly pulled up in a red Pontiac. When he got out of the car, the two got into a physical altercation, police say.

Shaw allegedly pulled out a gun and fired four shots at the victim, striking him once in the left shoulder. He then fled the scene on Mendenhall.

The victim was taken to Regional One in non-critical condition.
