Man arrested in connection with deadly stabbing in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department has arrested a man in connection with a deadly stabbing.
According to the police, Michael Kimbrel, 66, was found deceased inside his home on Wooddale Boulevard on July 24. Autopsy results found that he died from being stabbed.
Police arrested Alan Coons, 61, and charged him with second-degree murder. Police said they believe Kimbrel and Coons had an “altercation that led to the stabbing.”
Coons was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Police are still investigating a separate stabbing that happened on June 12 on South Flannery Road. A 22-year-old woman was charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder.
