Man arrested in connection with Ponchatoula fatal shooting investigation

PONCHATOULA, La. (WGNO) — A man has been arrested in connection with the investigation of a shooting that left a man dead in Ponchatoula in June.
The Ponchatoula Police Department reported that on June 6, officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 500 block of North 3rd Street around 9:30 p.m.

At the scene, officers said they found Gregory Harvey Jr. suffering with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Ponchatoula police said 59-year-old Kirk Arrington was arrested on charges of second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons in connection with the investigation.
On Tuesday, July 23, Ponchatoula detectives announced that 42-year-old Ricky Alexander was arrested for his alleged involvement in the June 6 shooting.
According to the police department, a fight happened before the shooting, and Alexander allegedly was involved and had a gun before leaving the scene.
Alexander was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail and faces charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, obstruction of justice and second-degree battery.
