Man arrested on ‘serious charges,’ Wisconsin pursuit ends in Illinois after crossing state border
PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – A pursuit that began in southeastern Wisconsin when a man fled a traffic stop after nearly rear-ending an officer ended in Illinois and officers say the driver faces ‘serious charges’ as a result.
According to the Pleasant Prairie Police Department, around 3:35 a.m. on September 5, an officer was driving near the intersection of Sheridan Road and 104th Street when they narrowly avoided a rear-end collision from an alleged reckless driver.
Following an attempted traffic stop, a pursuit ensued, which a portion of it can be seen here.

Due to the driver, later identified as a 33-year-old man from Waukegan, Illinois, entering Illinois, the pursuit was terminated. The Pleasant Prairie PD officer then relayed the vehicle information to nearby agencies.
Officers from the Zion Police Department in Illinois were in the area and were reportedly able to find the suspect vehicle ‘almost instantly.’ Shortly after, officers followed the driver into a parking lot where the man allegedly fled on foot.
The 33-year-old was subsequently taken into custody and is facing ‘serious charges’ from both agencies, officers say.
