Man dies after firefighter found him in Brush Creek Monday night

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City firefighters are trying to find out how a man died in Brush Creek overnight.

Around 7:45 Monday night, A KCFD fire rescue unit heading back to their station near Emanual Cleaver and Cleveland spotted a body in the water.

They took him to Saint Luke’s while performing CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. Responders said the man is 40 to 50 years old. Police did not release his identity.

It’s not yet clear if he suffered a medical emergency before or after ending up in the creek. Kansas City Police are taking over the investigation.
