Man dies at hospital following Central City shooting
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened early Tuesday in Central City.
According to officers, around 1:40 a.m., they originally responded to a call of a shooting in the 2400 block of Dryades Street where they found a man, later identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office as 41-year-old Tony Jones, suffering from a gunshot wound.

EMS provided treatment on the scene and took Jones to a hospital.
An hour later, at 2:37 a.m., NOPD officers reported that he had died from his injuries.
Further details weren’t released. The NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.
