Man drowns in Willamette River near West Linn
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man drowned in the Willamette River near the West Linn boat ramp on Friday, officials said.
Officials say the identity of the man will not be released until the family is notified.

According to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, a 911 caller reported that they saw a person fall in the water near the dock at the West Linn boat ramp in the 2000 block of Volpp Street.
“The 911 caller stated that the person had gone under the water and was no longer visible. Firefighters from TVF&R’s Water Rescue Team located at the nearby Willamette fire station arrived within minutes, and rescue swimmers began searching. Despite deep, murky water, rescuers located an adult male, pulled him out of the water, and began resuscitation efforts,” officials said.
Despite the life-saving efforts, the man did not survive.
