Man faces drug, gun charges after East Baton Rouge deputies seize marijuana, guns
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office arrested a man after a drug trafficking investigation.
Over the last three weeks, GIE agents, led by EBRSO SCAT, investigated a drug trafficking operation. Deputies said Jordan Soares, 23, was identified as a Baton Rouge area marijuana trafficker.
Through the investigation, agents discovered that Soares was recruiting and using juveniles to distribute marijuana into local schools, according to EBRSO. Agents completed two undercover purchases of marijuana from Soares and found two locations he used for his operation.
Agents performed search warrants in the 8700 block of Jefferson Highway and the 800 block of Chipley Street.

The sheriff’s office said the following items were seized:
23.4 pounds of marijuana.
100 marijuana vape cartridges.
60 dosage units of Tramadol.
Six dosage units of Amphetamines.
One dosage unit of Amphetamine.
Two digital scales.
$5,770.
Seven firearms.
Soares was arrested and charged with two counts of distribution of Schedule I narcotics, two counts of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I narcotics, possession with the intent to distribute Schedule IV narcotics, possession of Schedule II narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and seven counts of illegal carrying of a firearm with drugs.
