Man found guilty in Sheetz shootout that killed Youngstown student
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A man on trial for nine felony charges in the 2022 murder of a Youngstown State University student was convicted on all counts in court Monday.
According to the Franklin County Prosecution’s Office, Keimariyon Ross, 20, was found guilty on two counts of murder, three counts of attempted murder, three counts of felonious assault and improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.

Ross was among a group of individuals involved in a confrontation with another group of individuals on Oct. 30, 2022, at a Sheetz gas station on North Cassady Avenue near John Glenn International Airport. The incident led to a shootout, in which Ross fired several rounds about 3:50 a.m.
Kevin Sobnosky, riding in a vehicle near the shootout, was struck by gunfire. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead just over 12 hours later.
Sobnosky, a 21-yaer-old valedictorian at Girard High School and a member of the dean’s list at Youngstown State, was visiting Columbus with three other men when they were caught in the crossfire.
Police originally had as many as 12 persons of interest after reviewing video footage and collecting evidence, which included 20 shell casings at the scene.
A second suspect in the shooting, Tyyan Sullivan, was sentenced to 9-10? years in prison, two concurrent sentences of 3-4? years for felonious assault and two 3-year-gun specification sentences to run consecutively.
Tommie Wilkerson Jr. was indicted on four counts of felonious assault. His trial, which began in January, has yet to conclude.
Sentencing for Ross will take place on Sept. 5.
