On arrival, they found a man dead on the sidewalk.

Any possible suspects had left the scene before police arrived and no arrests were made.

Neighbors in the area told KOIN 6 News said incidents like this are becoming a common occurrence.

“It was around 5:35/5:45 in the morning and there was four or five shots in quick succession,” said Joe Klees. “It was unexpected but I wasn’t too surprised since we had had a few shootings in the past few years. So I kind of knew what it was. This area has kind of had some violence in the past.”

During the investigation, Northeast Holladay Street was closed between Northeast Grand Avenue and Northeast 7th Avenue.

If anyone has information about this incident, they are encouraged to contact Portland police.
